Ira Wernikoff has been in the business equipment industry for 30 years. He started his career in New York City with postage meter manufacturer Neopost (formerly Friden Alcatel) as a Sales Representative. He was selected to move to their Miami office where he first served as its Sales Manager and then Branch Manager. In his first year as Branch Manager, he was recognized as the National Branch Manager of the Year for his innovative efforts to increase market share and customer satisfaction. After 7 years with Neopost he was recruited by scale manufacturer Cardinal Manufacturing Co to be their Regional Manager.
He was responsible for representing Cardinal in an important 16 state sales territory. Ira’s primary focus was setting up new dealers to market parcel shipping systems and related weighing products. In 1995, Ira decided to start his own business equipment dealership representing Hasler Mailing Systems in the Miami market and formed Star Mailing & Shipping Systems.
In 1997, Ira merged his dealership with a competitive firm to form Star Business Systems, Inc. and later helped form Mailflow Technologies, Inc. Under his leadership, Star Business won National Dealer of The Year for Hasler two years in a row. In 2007, Hasler purchased both Star Business Systems, Inc. and Mailflow Technologies, Inc. giving Ira the opportunity to form ColorMail Office Systems.
